Play It Safe!

Did you know that April is National Facial Protection Month? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than half of the seven million sports and recreation-related injuries that occur each year are sustained by youth between ages 5 and 24. At Sondhi-Biggs Orthodontics, we want our patients to stay safe in the year ahead. Wearing a mouth guard is one of the easiest and least expensive forms of facial protection and helps prevent potential lifelong jaw and mouth problems!

This year, the American Association of Orthodontists has teamed up with sports legend Emmitt Smith to remind athletes with and without braces that mouth guards and other forms of facial protection help avoid serious injuries. To learn more and to see pictures of the football great showcasing his smile, visit the AAO’s Sports Safety Page or contact our office if you have any questions.

While we’re on the topic of sports, we would also like to wish the Butler Bulldogs good luck against Michigan State this Saturday. We’re excited to see our hometown team in the Final Four!

Relationships Make a Difference

At Sondhi-Biggs Orthodontics, we realize that choosing an orthodontist for your family is a serious decision. We strive to develop the strongest relationships possible between our orthodontists, our team and our patients.

From the very beginning, Dr. Sondhi and Dr. Biggs personally explain everything to patients and their parents, creating a strong start to this relationship. We believe that open communication is critical to the treatment process and plays an important role in the final outcome. Our practice has found this relationship improves patient compliance while creating a phenomenal orthodontic experience and results that are smiles above the rest!

Am I Too Old for Braces?

Many adults recognize the long-term benefits that orthodontic treatment can provide, but feel that braces may be just for teenagers. You might even be asking yourself the question, “Am I too old for braces?”

At Sondhi-Biggs Orthodontics, we specialize in improving bites and smiles of all ages. In fact, 25% of our patients are over the age of 21. Adults seeking orthodontic treatment at our office are delighted to discover that the highly efficient self-ligating braces we use in our office can treat most cases in 11 to 16 months. With so many advancements in orthodontic technology, achieving the perfect smile is now easier than ever. The only regret we hear from our adult patients is that they wish they had called us earlier!
